I built Calk-AU because I was frustrated with the state of financial calculators in Australia. Most were either outdated, buried behind signup walls, or just plain wrong. Every tax season I found myself manually checking ATO tables to verify results from other sites. So I decided to build the calculator site I wished existed — one that's always free, always current, and transparent about how every number is calculated.

Our Mission

Calk-AU provides 91 free online calculators designed specifically for Australians. Every tool on this site is built with a simple goal: give you accurate, instant results based on the latest official data — no signups, no paywalls, no guesswork.

Whether you're a first home buyer trying to understand stamp duty across different states, an employee checking if your pay slip is correct, or a small business owner calculating GST for your BAS — our calculators are here to help you make informed financial decisions.

How We Keep Things Accurate

Financial data changes every year — sometimes mid-year after a Federal Budget. Our process for keeping calculators current:

1. Source verification: All rates and thresholds are sourced directly from official government publications — not from third-party blogs or outdated databases.
2. Annual update cycle: Every 1 July, when the new Australian financial year begins, we update all tax brackets, super rates, HECS thresholds, and levy amounts.
3. Cross-validation: We cross-check our calculator outputs against the ATO's own calculators and ASIC MoneySmart tools to verify accuracy.
4. Transparent methodology: Our Methodology page explains exactly how each calculator works and what assumptions are made.

Data Sources

We rely on these official Australian government sources:

• Australian Taxation Office (ATO) — income tax brackets, PAYG rates, super rules, HECS thresholds, Medicare levy
• Fair Work Australia — minimum wage, award rates, leave entitlements, redundancy pay
• Australian Bureau of Statistics (ABS) — CPI data, inflation figures
• State Revenue Offices — stamp duty rates, land tax thresholds, payroll tax rates for NSW, VIC, QLD, WA, SA, TAS, ACT, and NT
• APRA & ASIC MoneySmart — superannuation and financial product benchmarks

Privacy & Your Data

Every calculation on Calk-AU happens entirely in your browser. The numbers you enter are never sent to any server, never stored, and never shared. We built it this way deliberately — your financial data is yours alone. Read our full Privacy Policy for details.

How We Make Money

Calk-AU is free to use and supported by advertising (Google AdSense). We display ads on calculator pages but they never interfere with the calculator itself. We don't sell your data, we don't have premium plans, and we don't use affiliate links that could bias our calculations. The numbers are the numbers.
